In modern times, the spread of a social phenomenon such as sports in the world requires immediate forecasting. Every athlete's training should be based on a predicttive system. During training, it is possible to monitor the progress of athletes' physical fitness and sports performance, compare the results with theoretical expectations and make adjustments to the training plan if necessary, thereby keeping the entire training process under control. If the forecasts indicate that there may be undesirable results in future competitions, then the training process should be organized in such a way that it prevents the results from decreasing and serves to increase the results. If the forecast shows that the results are changing in a favorable direction, then work in this direction should be more actively organized in order to achieve a higher result. The importance of forecasting in the research of the future development strategy of sports and the methods used in forecasting are discussed in the article.
